Kazakhstan and Italy Strengthen Cooperation in Qualification Recognition and Digital Transformation of Higher Education
On May 13, 2025, the National Center for Higher Education Development in Astana, led by Director Farhat Shaimuratovich Kuanganov, hosted a delegation from the Italian Information Centre on Academic Mobility and Equivalence (CIMEA), headed by Director Luca Lantero. The delegation also included Luca Ferranti, Matteo Testa, and Luca Camilucci. During the meeting, CIMEA presented its advanced digital tools for qualification recognition — including the internal WIKI information system, the ARDI Automatic Recognition Database, and the blockchain-based DiploMe platform. From the Kazakh side, the meeting was attended by Advisor to the Director Amantai Nurmagambetov, Deputy Director Alibek Madibekov, Head of the Office of Higher Education Internationalization Aitzhan Kulumzhanova, and Head of the Academic Recognition Office Roza Baitugelova. The parties discussed opportunities for cooperation within the ongoing transformation of Kazakhstan’s higher education system and the development of an International Educational Hub in the Greater Eurasia region, as well as shared experiences in digitalization and enhancing transparency in qualification recognition processes.
