PRESS RELEASE MEETING BETWEEN THE DIRECTOR OF THE NATIONAL CENTER FOR HIGHER EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT AND THE AMBASSADOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA

Today, the National Center for Higher Education Development under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a meeting between the Center’s Director, Farhat Shaimuratovich Kuanganov, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Tajikistan, Mohammad Fadjrul Rahman.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the National Center for Higher Education Development, including the Director’s Advisor, Deputy Directors, and the Head of the Department for the Internationalization of Higher Education, as well as officials from the Embassy of Indonesia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation in higher education, including student academic mobility, the attraction of foreign lecturers, the implementation of joint educational programs, and the prospects for introducing a dual-degree system.

In 2024, 17 students from Kazakhstan have completed their academic exchange programs at universities in Indonesia. These numbers reflect the growing interest in the educational programs of both countries. Special attention was given to Kazakhstan's upcoming ratification of the Tokyo Convention in May 2025, which will be a significant step toward strengthening international cooperation in education.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties expressed confidence in the continued development of their partnership.
