Today, universities in Kazakhstan, in addition to teaching in three languages, provide training in educational programs in English. The purpose of this training in higher education institutions is to train highly qualified, competitive specialists of various specialties who have language competence based on English language proficiency, are mobile in the international educational space and in the labor market. The number of students studying in English in the 2019-2020 academic year is 27,163. The peculiarity of the implementation of the EP in English in Kazakh universities is that unlike training in three languages, within the framework of these EP 90% of subjects are taught in English, and while in trilingual training is carried out on the principle of 50:20:30. The remaining 10% are such disciplines as "history of Kazakhstan" in the Kazakh language, "Kazakh language", "professional Kazakh language", "Russian language", etc. So, in the 2019-2020 academic year, the total number of subjects in educational programs in English (except for language courses) in 34 universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan is 10,891 units, of which 9,689 units (90%) are read in English.
