Kazakhstani universities in QS World University Ranking 2022

QS World University Rankings is a global research and annual ranking of the world's best universities according to the British company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

This ranking evaluates more than 20 thousand universities around the world. To get into the ranking, universities annually submit data in an extensive volume and in a specially established format.

The best universities in the world in the QS ranking are evaluated based on six criteria:

1. Academic reputation 40%;

2. Reputation among employers 10%;

3. The ratio of the teaching staff to the number of students 20%;

4. Citation Index 20%;

5. The share of foreign teachers is 5%;

6. The share of foreign students is 5%.

This year, the company published the QS World University Rankings 2022, which included 14 Kazakhstani universities.

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University retained its position in the TOP-200, taking the 175th place. Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov was positioned on the 328th place. South Kazakhstan University named after M.Auezov in the current year rose by 8 positions, taking 482nd place. It is also worth noting S. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, which this year for the first time entered the rating, being on the 601+ place. The TOP-600 this year included Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K. Satpayev, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University and Kazakh National Agrarian University. Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages, Kazakh-British Technical University, KIMEP University, E.Buketov Karaganda University and Karaganda Technical University were positioned in the TOP-1000. S.Seifullin Kazakh Agro-Technical University and Toraigyrov University are located in 1000+.

In foreign universities, in the top three of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Oxford and Stanford University.
